The Daily Cretan History Tour will start around 7-8 am with our welcoming you in Rethymno. After 30 minutes you will arrive at the historic Arkadi Monastery. Here you will have one hour of free time to explore the beauty of the monastery. There is also a small museum where weapons are exhibited, as well as many icons and monastic remains.

Then you will visit the Ancient Eleftherna Museum, which contains historical finds from the Homeric period. Afterwards, you will go to the “TSIKALARIO” pottery workshop in the village of Margarites, where you will see the art of pottery and you will be able to create your own pottery.

After lunch you will be driven to an olive oil factory. You will have the opportunity to learn how the people of Crete made olive oil in the past and taste this wonderful product. The final destination will be the Melidoni cave. You will discover a magnificent cave full of stalactites and stalagmites, but also full of history. Melidoni cave is also called 'Gerodospilios'. It was used in religious ceremonies. It was the place of worship of Talos, the bronze giant protector of Crete, who protected the island from enemies during the Minoan Civilization.
