Overview

With this entrance ticket to the world's largest Buddhist temple, Borobudur, you can create a memory on the island of Java that is full of wonder and that you can do at your own pace.

This temple, located about 40 kilometers northwest of Yogyakarta and close to the Borobudur bus terminal, is an excellent addition to your bucket list. It is not only a relic of Buddhist worship and a place of pilgrimage, but it is also a natural beauty. As you approach, you'll notice the cloud-piercing central dome of the temple, which is surrounded by dramatic landscapes and bright-green grass. As you show your e-ticket at the Kiosk, take in the eerie landscape of fantastic forms in shades of grey and mustard. The awe-inspiring square structure with four entrances and a circular center point is built in the Mandala style, which reflects the universe in Buddhist beliefs.

When viewed from the outside to the inside, it is divided into two parts: the realm of the world on the outside, which is divided into three zones, and the realm of Nirvana in the center. By the end of the tour, you'll have learned about the Sailendra dynasty, which built the world's largest Buddhist heritage. Furthermore, you will have read instructions from the Buddha about humans distancing themselves from the lusts of the world and moving toward enlightenment and wisdom. You might even feel enlightened!
