This tour includes 2000 years of history, five courses, and approximately 3 kilometers of walking (never too badto burn some calories!)
Your guide will tell you everything there is to know about the connection between food and Timisoara's history. Following a quick introduction and a starter meal, you will stroll to the old town to examine the Ottoman period in the city's history. Continue to the 17th fortification system after refueling with a traditional Romanian lunch soup, ciorba. You'll learn about the star-shaped fortifications that were popular in the 18th century and sample the famed sarmale (cabbage rolls). Continue your guided tour of the city, stopping to sample the mince along the route (minced meat rolls). The Opera House and the Orthodox Cathedral are both worth seeing. Finish the journey with papayas, a simple but tempting Romanian dessert, after the final site, Maria Square.
