Tour Overview

The Prado Museum houses the works by some of Spain's greatest artists, as well as a major collection of works by masters from Italy, the Netherlands, and other countries. Its collections are the result of nearly 200 years of collecting by Spanish monarchs and queens in the 16th and 17th centuries.

The Thyssen-Bornemisza is conveniently located across from the Prado and near the Reina Sofa Modern Art Museum. You'll have access to the permanent collection of the Thyssen, which was originally owned by Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza. It combines German Renaissance art, 17th-century Dutch art, Impressionism, German Expressionism, Russian Constructivism, and Pop Art. Around 1,000 works of art, ranging from Renaissance to modern art, are housed in the museum's collection.

The Reina Sofa Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art houses works from the early 1900s to the present day. See Pablo Picasso's famous anti-war artwork Guernica, as well as other works by Salvador Dali, Juan Gris, Joan Miro, Julio González, and others.
