  • Go inside New Orleans' most haunted building and see the notorious seance room.

Tour Overview

Your tour will begin near Bourbon Street, where you will meet your professional local guide and a small group of no more than 20 people. Surrounded by the 24-hour party, you'll set out to discover how this region grew from a squalid slum to one of the country's premier pleasure districts. You'll pass through hotbeds of vice like the Tango Belt, Storyville, Pirate Alley, and Exchange Place, as well as pubs and flophouses where the unique mingling of cultures known as "Creole" took place.

You'll also stop by a bar to learn about (and possibly sample) one of the various drinks developed in the French Quarter, as well as a stop on Royal Street to see some of America's best street musicians.

Your guide will next take you to Jackson Square, where you'll see the Pontalba residences, the St. Louis Cathedral, and the Cabildo, among other notable structures (where the Louisiana Purchase was signed). After that, you'll take a guided tour of the interior of the Presbytere, where you'll see exhibitions on Mardi Gras and Hurricane Katrina.

You can't visit New Orleans without having a close experience with the supernatural, so take a tour of one of the city's most haunted buildings, which features the notorious seance room.

You'll finish on a high note by stopping by Cafe du Monde, which serves the city's most popular donuts or beignets. Your guide will purchase one for you and then take you to the waterfront to witness the steamboats travel up and down the Mississippi River.
