Tour Overview

Take a spectacular journey west of Denver to the mountains. Mount Evans is a journey that combines natural beauty with historical history. You'll stop at the Red Rocks Amphitheater, Echo Lake, and Idaho Springs in addition to seeing the world from the top of Mount Evans.

The Red Rocks Amphitheater is a concert venue set among red sandstone rock formations. Since its opening in 1941, this location's unique acoustics have made it a favorite of performers, and several live records have been recorded there. The Beatles, John Denver, and U2 are just a few of the bands and performers who have performed there.Echo Lake is the next stop on the road to the peak. The splendor of clean mountain waters surrounded by evergreen trees can be found here. During the summer, this location is a popular spot for trekking and fishing. You'll also have the chance to visit Echo Lake Lodge, which is steeped in history. The Denver Parks erected this traditional mountain lodge in 1926 to host visitors.

The tour continues up the Mount Evans Scenic Byway till we reach the summit of Mount Evans after a relaxing break. This peak is one of the tallest in the front range of the Rocky Mountains, standing at 14,130 feet. You can see all the way back to Denver from here on a clear day. Of course, the vistas of the mountain range, alpine flowers, and other local fauna will be your primary emphasis. Mountain goats and Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep may be seen wandering through the area. Make sure you're prepared to capture the moment with some amazing photos.

You will have the opportunity to view some local history in Idaho Springs before returning to Denver. Prospectors discovered gold at the confluence of Chicago Creek and Clear Creek in 1859. A burgeoning mining business resulted from the discovery of larger gold veins. The architecture of the historic downtown district contains remnants of the gold rush period. You'll begin your return journey to Denver from Idaho Springs. You may unwind and enjoy the travel to the city while admiring Colorado's natural splendor.
